‘Tis the season of weddings in Bollywood. Several high-profile couples took the plunge this year, including Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja, and Angad Bedi and Neha Dhupia.
However, Yami Gautam is in no hurry to walk down the aisle just yet. When a leading daily asked her about her marriage plans, she said, “How many marriages can the 2018 calendar accommodate? The calendar is already filled with marriages keeping the media busy. So spare me please. I am single. I will remain single until I get married. At the moment I have no plans for marriage.”
In the past, Yami was linked to her Sanam Re co-star Pulkit Samrat. The two have always maintained that they are “close friends”, but Pulkit’s ex-wife, Shweta Rohira has a different version of events altogether.
Pulkit and Shweta’s marriage came to a bitter end, less than a year after tying the knot. Shweta blamed Yami and accused her of being a home-breaker, while led to Pulkit accusing his ex-wife of “falsifying facts”. Meanwhile, Pulkit and Yami continued to claim that they were “just friends”.
On the work front, Yami is currently gearing up for the release of her next, Aditya Dhar’s war-drama Uri: The Surgical Strike. She plays an intelligence officer in the film, which will hit the screens on January 11.
