Performance-wise, Nawazuddin Siddiqui once again proves why he remains one of the finest performers in Indian cinema. His restrained acting works perfectly for the role of a retired man trying to rediscover purpose in life. Chitrangada Satarupa emerges as the film’s biggest surprise. She confidently holds her own opposite Nawazuddin and delivers a powerful, natural performance that keeps viewers engaged.

Technically, the film looks visually polished. The cinematography beautifully captures both Frankfurt and Mumbai, creating two very different emotional atmospheres. The background score remains subtle and supports the mood effectively. The song Talash leaves a decent impression.

Family dramas mixed with comedy often work well in Bollywood when emotions feel genuine and the script keeps audiences engaged. Unfortunately, DAADI KI SHAADI struggles to strike that balance. The story revolves around Tony Kalra (Kapil Sharma), a man desperate to settle down, who finally gets a chance to marry his college crush Kanika aka Kanu (Sadia Khateeb). However, their wedding plans take a shocking turn when Kanu’s grandmother Vimla Ahuja (Neetu Kapoor) announces on social media that she is planning to remarry. The unexpected revelation creates chaos within the family and forces everyone to head to Shimla to stop Daadi from going ahead with her decision.

While the basic premise sounds entertaining on paper, the execution lacks depth. The screenplay moves unevenly and several scenes feel unrealistic. The emotional conflict that should have been the heart of the film never truly connects with viewers. Instead of building curiosity around Daadi’s decision, the film reveals its biggest twist far too early, reducing the impact of later scenes.

Performance-wise, Neetu Kapoor delivers the strongest act in the film. She brings grace and emotional weight to her character even when the writing lets her down. Kapil Sharma gives an honest performance, though fans expecting the same energy seen in his comedy shows or recent films may feel disappointed. Sadia Khateeb performs decently but gets limited scope later in the movie. R. Sarathkumar and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni leave a decent impression in supporting roles.
