Mumbai: On the death anniversary of legendary actress Nargis Dutt, her daughter Priya Dutt paid a deeply emotional tribute, remembering her as her “greatest inspiration” and guiding force in life.

Taking to social media, Priya reflected on the invaluable lessons she inherited from her mother — values that continue to shape her life even decades later. She shared that Nargis didn’t just preach compassion, courage, and selflessness, but truly lived by them every day.

In her heartfelt note, Priya expressed, “My mother taught me the most important lessons in life. Her compassion, courage, and selflessness were not just qualities, but a way of life she passed on to us. She showed me what it truly means to lead with heart and live with dignity.”

Even after 45 years since her passing, Priya revealed that her mother’s presence still feels strong. She described Nargis as a constant source of strength and love that continues to guide her path.

Nargis Dutt, one of Indian cinema’s most iconic stars, married her Mother India co-star Sunil Dutt in 1958. Together, they built a close-knit family with their three children — Sanjay Dutt, Priya Dutt, and Namrata Dutt.

Tragically, Nargis passed away in 1981 after battling pancreatic cancer, just days before Sanjay Dutt made his Bollywood debut with Rocky. Her untimely demise left a deep void, but her legacy continues to inspire generations.
